How can i put parts of a dvd on to youtube?

I have a dvd in my laptop..but how can i get parts of it on to Youtube..

like have a few clips and edit them on movie maker and put them in a video?

Please dont just tell me to download something..ive looked everywhere but its quite confusing..thanks

it is illegal to put parts of a movie into a video for youtube if you don't the a license from the publisher.
