How can i put sound into my tv from my computer?

im trying to make a home theater system and so far i only put video onto my tv. I want to put sound but i just dont know how first of all my computer only has the jack you put headphones in and my tv has the white and red a/v jacks so a little help is appriciated. hopefully its with the minimum amount of money. thanks in advance

I use my computer to hook up to my tv and/or receiver for music and movies etc. For audio i went to a store like The Source, for a cord that has a headphone jack like end (3.5mm) that would split to an A/V cord that had white and red plugs on the other end.

I have seen cheap cords that do the trick at some dollar stores and even wal-marts. I got mine for like 10 bucks and it is 2m long.

u can use a cable like the one in the site listed under sources.  the cable plugs into ur computer (speaker/headphone/line out jack) on one end and into ur tv on the other. remember, the one in the site is only an example. u can buy a longer cable or one from a different brand or store if u like.
