  1. Zune can't support all video or audio formats. Zune's playable video and audio formats must meed some specifications (you could read Part II at the bottom of my answer). So you need a Video to Zune Converter software to help you convert your videos. I Recommend Cucusoft Zune Movie/Video Converter.

    Download the software here:

Part I Step by step shows you how to convert videos to zune video format

Step.1 Click "Open File" button to add your videos

Step.2 Select Output fourmtat in "Profile" list

Step.3 Click "Convert" button to start the conversion

MPEG-4 (MP4/M4V) (.mp4) Part 2 video[4] – Simple Profile up to 2.5 Mbps peak video bit rate; 720 pixels x 480 pixels up to 30 frames per second (or 720 pixels x 576 pixels up to 25 frames per second).  Zune software will transcode HD MPEG-4 files at device sync

DVR-MS[5] – Zune software will transcode at time of sync

  2. Converting the video is only part of the answer. You can find many good converters to download and buy just doing a search for Zune converters. What converter you use will depend on the video format you want to convert. For DVDs you will need a DVD to Zune converter.

This is what I do for most videos I download off the Internet. I downloaded Voobys converter. Do that by finding a video you want on youtube. In the address bar replace youtube with voobys and press enter. You will be led to another website. Download the voobys converter and download the video remembering where you save the video so you can find it later.

Install the Voobys program and open it. Click on convert and browse for the video you downloaded. Select the output format-wmv and click convert. It will save the converted video to the same folder that you saved it to. Even though Zune will add this converted format I've found that Zune will convert it again when it syncs. You can avoid this by importing the video into Windows Movie Maker and converting it again.  I'm suggesting Voobys and WMM because they are free. There are others out there that will convert it once but most of them cost.

Put the converted video in whatever folder you have Zune monitoring for  videos. Usually that is the My Videos folder unless you change it. Zune will look there for compatible files and import them into Zune. Then sync your Zune.

I hope this was clear and helpful. If you would like to ask questions or need more help feel free to message me.

  3. You need a converter to help you, because most of movies/videos formats are not play on Zune directly.  I downloaded Cucusoft Zune Video Converter Suite to help me at http://www.dvdipodsoft.com/zune-video-co...

This software can convert DVD's and videos to zune directly. It's fast, easy and very wonderful. I think it is a good choose. You can download it to help you too.
