  1. Retake your D classes and do better. It will raise your GPA faster than just taking other classes.

I know you got a D in algebra, but do some math adding up your GPA retaking classes and then without retaking the class.

  2. There are many ways/tricks on which you can improve your GPA.  However, nothing substitutes for hard work and studying.  Algebra (math) is a subject in which you need understanding to do well.  If you don't understand the concept of how to solve the problem, you can never improve your grades.  Understand why you do something as opposed to memorize how to do the calculation will improve your grades significantly.

On the other hand, you will need some tricks to improve your overall GPA as well, please refer to my article for more explanations:

  3. Take it over! Sweep through the class and get a better GPA or it might be hard to transfer depending what kind of college you plan to transfer too

  4. Try to find some easy classes that you can take and get As in.

The more credits you have with As, the higher your GPA will be.

  5. Check your school's policy - at many universities, they don't replace a grade if you retake a course.  Sometimes it's the average of the two grades, and a few schools won't even let you retake a course if you've technically 'passed', unless it's a required course for your major.

My advice is to just keep going, and focus on classes that you're pretty sure you'll do well in.  Also, if you don't have a specific school you're looking to transfer to, I would suggest finding a school that starts you with a 'clean slate' once you're there.  Many state universities do this - they don't factor your previous school(s) GPA when they do their calculations.  Good luck!

  6. Some universities will allow you to retake classes below a C and recalculate your GPA.  Look at your college catalog for the info.  There is a limit on how many classes you can retake.

However, one D won't bring you down to 2.10.

To raise your overall GPA, you really should stop partying, do your homework and study.

  7. study, tutors, take easy classes and get A's.  good luck.
