How can i reach pokhara (nepal) from chennai?

i'm in chennai now. i want to go to pokhara nepal to visit during this summer may-june. i want to use the airways. which one is the best and the cheapest? how can i reach there? i don't have passport right now, but do i need a passport to go there? it's an open-border only na!

You can do enter Nepal without a passport if you are a bonafide Indian citizen. Even then you need to have some documents to prove your Indian citizenship e.g. a driving licence. Indian Airlines and Royal Nepal Airlines, both fly to Nepal's capital Kathmandu from different Indian cities and the difference in fare between these two carriers is negligible. Pokhra is a short distance from Kathmandu by road.

u can take a flight to kathmandu via delhi or calcutta .u need an identity proof i.e. a valid document either a passport or driving license

You can take NEPAL AIRLINES or JETAIRWAYS upto Kathmandu. Another ticket from Kathmandu to Pokhara..

If you want to go by road then take the Train ticket Chennai to Gorakhapur which is approxemately INR 700/- then by bus upto Sonauli ( We called Sunauli) From there you can take another bus direct to Pokhara...
