  1. A good start would be to see if you can get swedish free-to-air channels...best source for this is www.lyngsat.com, which will give you an idea of available channels in the UK.

Then you want to look out for a cheap satellite dish and digibox to go with it (eg portable satellite dish with digibox, like the ones that they have once a year at ALDI that sell out in the first half-hour).These can be bought very cheap off ebay.

You should look out for the following:

Sat Dish (no larger than 60cm I would guess). To get Swedish TV, you would probably need something around 43cm.

Digibox to go with it (NOT A SKY DIGIBOX, something like a Tevion or Pace Digibox)

Advice on this can be found on forums such as www.digitalspy.co.uk which can give advice on digital channels, attaching a sat dish to the wall etc.

When I lived in the UK (in the North West) I got a portable sat dish and digibox from Aldi, didn't use any special equipment, just mounted it on the outside wall and pointed it in different directions. Got thousands of free channels!

So to summarize, cheapest way would be to tune into Free-to-Air channels (which are listed on Lyngsat.com), sticking your own Sat dish to the wall (or to a pole outside in the garden), getting the digibox with it, and just tune into your progs...shouldn't cost over £60.

Stores that have offers on this kit, are ALDI (which have probably recently had this offer) and LIDL, although you can buy a similar kit from Maplins for around £79 at the moment, which isn't as cheap as the ALDI or LIDL offers, but just as good.

  2. Why on earth would you want to watch boring Swedish TV? Almost everybody in Sweden invests in satellite tv just to avoid watching the c**p that comes on there. Ok, seriously, I understand that for whatever reason you want to see Swedish TV, and I'm sorry that I can't offer you any technical advice. However, you can go to the following website and watch some TV4 if you like: http://anytime.tv4.se/webtv/?treeId=907

I haven't looked, but I bet that svt.se has programs that you can watch as well.

  3. try this product http://satellitetv-to-pc.net/  works well and is cheap.
