The top of my putter blinds me when I line up a putt. I tried to color it with a marker, but it just wore off. What can I do. I can forget putting well on a sunny day

  1. You could try spray painting it flat black to reduce glare.  Or if you don't want to do that just put some tape on it.  Or move to Ireland, Scotland, England, Belgium where the sun almost never shines, and play there.

  2. if we are talking about the face, i dont know, you arent supposed to put anything on the face of your clubs, on the top you could use some surf wax or pine tar, i did that and it works pretty well to reduce glare.

  3. I had a friend that put chalk on his, so it wouldnt be permanent . But that gunsmith idea sounds great

  4. Is it a circa 62 scotty Cameron? Pre 2007 model?  LOL. i used to have one, thats one of the worst in terms of glare.

If its a putter you like, and a major brand, send it to the company and have it refinished.

Im outa ideas if your circumstances are any different.

  5. other answers very good . loved the fellow who suggested moving . the permant way  to remove glare . take your putter to a gun smith , they will use a very light sand blast . to remove the finish on the yop of the putter . it will be smooth as glass . with no glare . best part . the highest charge . 2 dollars . takes 3 minutes , does not touch any other part of the putter . good luck . have a great seson . love the belgium answer pure genius .

  6. Get a little bit of satin finish black paint and cover the shiny surface. This will stop the glare. You may have to repaint it frequently since slamming the putter into the bag can chip the new finish.
