If you mean for a bank account or something, I am pretty sure you physically have to go into the bank to set that up. Once you do get it set up though, you can do all of your banking online through the access card number they give you!

When I registered with my own bank (it wasn't with the Bank of Montreal though!), I initially did everything over the phone because it was all to with online banking only.

I originally applied online, they called me back to confirm everything a couple of days later (that call lasted maybe 30 minutes), they sent me some information in the mail including a very valuable ATM card and BANG! I was set!

They never called me back after that and neither did I!

Everything I needed to do in order to handle my finances and manage my money was either done through the ATM or online.
