How can i relate diversity on earth to either land, air or water?

I'm in grade 9 and my project's question says:

Choose any one of the realms of the Earth (land, air and water) and collect information and analyze it to find out about:-

1. The diversity of environment that exists in the world, which supports life

I've chosen water but how can I relate it to the diversity......???

There's plenty of diversity for water. What kind of water: salt or fresh. What form : liquid, ice or snow. What plants and animals are associated with certian aquatic envoirnments (which ones live in salt water, which ones live in fresh water). What kinds of enviornments will you find fresh or salt water or ice or snow.

Is there hot water?  Is there cold water?  Is there shallow water?  Is there deep water?  Is there salty water?  Is there fresh water?

You can show diversity by illustrating all the different species of animals and plant life that live in all sorts of water - salt, fresh, running, stagmented, and so on.   Heck, you could even go as far as to show how water is used by some species of insects to lay eggs.
