  1. Vitamin B6 will make your dreams more vivid, thereby allowing you to remember them better. The only way to dream about what you want is to fall asleep thinking about that one thing in particular, chances are 'fair' that you will dream about it, in some fashion.

  2. Sounds silly but I can have a dream, wake up, and go back to sleep and re-dream the same dream or finish it.

As you try to go to sleep think of the dreams you want to dream.

Do this over and over again.

Keeping a Dream Journal is a great idea.

    I hope this helps. :)

  3. Keep a dream journal ... after you dream, write it down right when you wake up. Also, if you meditate before bed, you'll find that your dreams are more in line with what you want them to be.

  4. Well, your dreams come from an area in your brain that activates during your sleep and most things that come to your mind when you dream are unconscious thoughts and dreams, and the things that you were thinking about that day, and before you went to sleep.  Have you ever had a dream about something that happened to you or you desired to happen and your dream made it happen?  I had a dream about telling my roommate's boyfriend he was not welcome in our apartment anymore and it was an awesome feeling.  In real life, I hate him and wish I could do that!

The best way to remember a dream is to wake up while you are in REM sleep... the deepest sleep where you dream.  REM stands for rapid-eye-movement and that is a sign you are deeply sleeping and are dreaming.  Those who say they never dream are lying, they just haven't woken up during their REM sleep to know.  If you wake up at another point in your cycle (you go from a light sleep to a deep sleep, and cycle back through that until you wake up) you are not likely to remember your dream.  Also keep a journal by your bed so if you wake in the middle of the night with a dream you can write it down to remember it better.  Chances are if you go back to bed and wake up in the morning the dream will be a faint remnant.

So, to recap, yes you can remember them better if you wake up during your REM cycle (which you can't do yourself unless you set your alarm right) and if you think about things you want to dream about before you sleep.  Most likely your thoughts will become some sort of surreal version of what you want to dream about, but close enough!
