  1. Yes, cold water and soap. Don't ever apply hot water to blood; it will set the stain.

Best to do it as soon as your underwear becomes soiled. Once the blood dries, it's much harder to remove.

Once you get your underwear sopping wet and apply lots of soap - hand soap, bar soap, doesn't matter - you'll just have to scrub it. Then rinse. If still stained, repeat.

You may need to let it soak for a while in cold soapy water if it resists coming out.

And I always let my underwear air dry after I've done this - so if there's any color left and I have to wash it again, I can - remember that once clothing goes through the dryer, any stain will set.

One thing: it's easier to get out of nylon / synthetic fabrics, but cotton is healthier to wear - so that's up to you. Just wanted to mention it. Good luck! We've all been there. And probably all have some pairs of cheapo underwear we save for "those days."

  2. I agree with DRE. Sounds like a very thorough and accurate answer. I would not be using any rust remover product on my underclothes. The chemicals can't be good for your body and it could be hard to rinse out.

  4. rinse very well with cold water. then wash is with deterget, you minght like to leave soak fo a lettle whlie

befor the full cycle, good luck

  5. rinse in cold water immediately after finding the stain, spray a stain remover on it, and wash.  set aside some panties for your period days and invest in a better form of padding -tampons work well.  if  you continue to leak, change your tampon/pad more frequently and take advil.

  6. I always heard that cold water is the only way to take out blood. I've also heard to use salt in the water. They never worked for me. The best way I've found is to use hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes and then use a small scrub brush with dawn dish soap. If the stain is stubborn I pour on some dawn and let them sit before throwing them in the washer. And I'll use either warm or hot water. I've never seen cold work.

  7. Soak any fresh blood in cold water until ready to wash.

Any old blood you can try bleach in the washing machine with your regular detergent. Ask your mom to help.

You can also try putting straight peroxide onto the blood and then dab it with a rag to soak it up.

Don't be embarrassed about it. A bucket of water next to the washing machine would let you throw your underwear in and your mom will be able to throw it right in the wash when she does it.

  8. Cold water is best!  As soon as you can take them off, take them off and rinse them with COLD water, and soap.  Get as much out as you can with the soap and water, you can use your finger nail and scratch the bloody spot (this will loosen it from the fibers in your undies) rinse and spray with SHOUT or some type of pretreatment for laundry.  I like shout and you can let it sit for about 15 min before you throw it in the wash...if you have Oxy clean, you can throw that in the wash too!  Should come out and be good as new!

** Future, try using a pad with wings, this helps to not let as much into your panties!  And you can start wearing a liner the day before so you dont miss ...this helps so you dont even have to worry about "spills" ;-) or starting without knowing you have started!

  9. SOAP N COLD WATER

  10. A little hydrogen peroxide will take blood out even if it's dried blood.

  11. Rinse in cold water with detergent. Then use a product called "Whink, Rust Remover". It comes in a brown plastic bottle about 5 inches tall and is found in the laundry or cleaning section at the store. This works very well but be careful it is very strong.
