  1. I've heard carrots can better your vision, but not drastically. Sometimes the longer you go without glasses, the worse your vision can get. You might need glasses but there are other alternatives to make them not so bad. Like what about contact lenses? They're great and it's almost like you're not wearing anything to enhance your vision at all. I would recommend Acuvue Oasis, they are comfortable and don't make your eyes dry. And there's colored ones too if you're into that :) Good luck

  2. Print out an eye chart (available at http://www.central-fixation.com/resource... ).  Place it at a distance from you at which some of the letters appear clear but not all.  Note the lowest line which you have no trouble reading.  Then think about something disagreeable (physical pain, mental stress, embarrassment, whatever) while making yourself continue to look at that line.  If it blurs, you have demonstrated that you have at least some control over your eyesight.  If that doesn't work, attempt to read the entire line without moving your head or your eyes.  If you don't manage to momentarily make your sight worse that way, pick one point of a letter on the line and stare at it, attempting not to move your eyes anywhere else (not literally possible but the point is that you're *trying* to lock your gaze.)  Just keep trying those three things until you manage to increase the blur.

Since you can make your sight worse momentarily, can you then make it better?  I'm not quite sure if significant genuine improvement is possible, but according to Dr. Bates, whose writings are available at the site linked to above, it is.  I should tell you that I have 700-800 degrees of myopia, and consequently many of his suggestions just aren't practical for me.  But with only 175 degrees and having never worn glasses, you sound like an ideal candidate to try this.  Good luck.

  3. There is a difference between near sightedness and far sightedness, if you suffer from near sightedness for a short time due to problems such as eye computer fatigue syndrome it is more likely to gain eyesight if you avoid what has caused this problems and with a healthy diet full of vitamins and minerals.

  4. If you are a 1.75 (either far-sighted or near-sighted), nothing will restore it short of refractive surgery (such as LASIK,PRK, etc.)  Of course, your vision must be stable for a period of a year and you must be at least in your early twenties to be considered a good candidate.  This will not fix your vision forever.  Changes take place as you age.
