How can i rip a dvd to my computer?

I'm going to college in the fall and instead of bringing all of my dvds i thought it would be easier to just rip them all to my computer. I know i need some kind of program to rip them but i dont really want to pay for one.

try for nero ... also .. there are many many free DVD / CD rippers available ... try them...

but nero is good .. because , just in case if you can't RIP , then make an ISO or NRG image file , and use it with nero's own virtual drive ..

If you just want to save dvd to computer, DVD Decrypter is enough and it's totally free

Assuming that this DVD uses CSS encryption (pretty much all commercial DVDs do), you will need to use a dedicated program for it. Operating system information would be necessary for more specific instructions. However, a quick search on Softpedia should get you what you need if you are using Mac or Windows. If you are using a BSD or Linux-based distro, searching your distros repositories will be much easier.
