  1. its okay, just take it slow, it sounds like ur running a mile, im 13 and when i was 8 and running the mile for school my time was 12.08, ya i still remember, i just made the pass part of pass/fail.  I started running with my mom cuz it looked fun.  At first i thought it was really fun, then it got harder.  It was because i was mentally changing into having a runners mind.  Running dosent seem fun when u have a runners mind, it seems like a challenge.  I started running even more in a town near mine with a group thats all adults with my mom.  I ran the mile in 6.37 in the 7th grade lasts year.  Now i run it 6.14.  So the point is it is gonna get hard but if u take it slow u will be fine, if u practice it will be hard then get easy.  Just like a cramp, run through it. [: good luck!

  2. One word for you: Practice.

  3. You have to keep a positive mind. If you tell yourself that you hate running, then when you do have to run your mind is going to tell you that the run is a lot harder than it is. If you want the position you're going to have to deal with hard work. So tell yourself as you run that it may hurt and it may suck while you run, but it's going to be worth it once you're on the team. Repeat to yourself either out loud or in your head that you can do it. You have to trick your mind into thinking that it's easy, and it will be. I run cross country, and when i feel like i'm at hard part of the run, I tell myself that it's not hard at all, that i've done it a thousand times before and i can do it once more. It doesn't seem like you've run a lot, so just tell yourself that it's going to get easier as you go and once you're third baseman you'll be glad that you put up with the running. Don't worry about being in the front with everyone, go at your own pace. Go slow if you need to but don't walk. If you stay positive and don't give up, then that'll look good to the coaches and they'll want you on the team. Nobody wants a whiner. And if you think your weight might be an issue, it probably won't bother you if you run at an easy pace. Keep your breathing slow and easy, don't breath too quickly or you'll get out breath and that'll suck. Good luck. [ =
