  1. when you breathe you want to breathe in through your mouth and nose at the same time and breathe out of your mouth and nose at the same time it sounds hard but its not. When you are swinging your arms while running imagine that you are elbowing someone behind you this will give you more push off when you run. when your feet land on the ground try to land then directly under your hips. and when you get super tired like in the last mile of a race pump your arms like crazy no matter how bad they hurt....trust me you will fly by everyone. and remember the pain and tiredness is all in your head.

  2. Pace yourself. When you start, run just slightly faster then you are going to maintain during the whole of the race to get a good clean start.

Then get your pace and when you run make it right so you can breathe at the times your feet hit the ground ...

(For example i you dont get it: Right Foot- Breathe in, Left Foot- Breathe out.)

    Got it?

Flat hands, eat the right type of food, healthy food, have a snack before running to keep you going, make sure your hydrated.

And dont push yourself to keep up with everyone. If people are racing off, let them- either you wont be able to keep up with them and work yourself overtime, or you will overtake them later when they are tired, and you still have energy to go.

If that doesnt work you might just need to practice a lot more- it takes a while to become the 'champion' at cross country.

    Good luck!

  3. breath through nose out through mouth

pase youself and just run fast towards the end

  4. stretch before you run,

and keep your chin up whilst running to make it easier to breathe

  5. you must pace yourself really, to stop yourself tiring too early.

  6. Depends what level you are at now. I've always found that doing hill runs in the weekly shedule helped a lot.

You basically have to do XC training runs to become good at cross country. You have to excercise regularly to start to get you body to adjust. But without knowing your level it's quite hard to give advice?

What level are you at the moment?

  7. *Train more - but don't suddenly increase mileage, GRADUALLY build it up.

    *Have a healthy diet

*Don't go off to quickly like lots of people do because they die later on in the race and get overtaken by loads of people which can be embarrassing. Start off slowly and work your way up.

*Have a good breakfast- porridge with chopped banana and honey is really good for me.

    * Drink plenty of water especially if the distance is on the long side.

    * When you train, make sure it is varied training for example Fartlek, lots of hill training, interval, crossovers and always time yourself so you know if you are improving or not.

Good luck!! And don't forget to enjoy it!!

  8. bigger strides and use arms more
