  1. save your allowance and try babysitting or getting a job.

  2. by not spending money ;)

  3. try getting a job then not spending the money.

  4. Start doing chores - around your house and other people's houses.

Alot of the time if you know the person and explain to them that you want to save up money and what for they will love to help you.

Its summer so you could do yard work and mowing.

You could also look into delivering newspapers!

Also, keep in mind that you can adopt a pet. Yes, even gerbils and ferrets! Contact some of your local pet stores. I work for Petco and we take in animals for adoption all the time. Or go to petfinder.com.

Th only thing about adopting is that they may not be as young as might like, but it would help you as far as money - it would be cheaper, plus you would be given an unwanted animal a home.

    Good luck!

  5. If you're a kid, ask your parents if you can 50/50, save up for half and your parents pay the other half. If you are a kid but your parents don't buy the 50/50 plan, save every bit of money you get. One coin doesn't seem like much, but if you get enough, you can cash it into money at the bank. Go couch surfing for extra cash, and look into OLD wallets, that you own, you may have left some money there. And offer to do some laundry, and check the pockets for spare change/cash.

  6. you can go to craigslist and look under FREE and they have some pet supplies and some animals too!  Maybe think of a good barter!!!  My son got a Chinchila and cage for 35$ nice, huh?

Or if you dont get any response ask your local shelter, (MSPCA) and they have free adoptions some with cages!  Check it out!!

  7. work, mow lawns, babysit if your old enough, collect cans & sell them to scrap yard, do odd jobs/chores

  8. ok, out of the two, i reccomend gerbils. they should be in at least pairs though. around $12 in W. PA. what I suggest is putting any spare change into a large jar. and get the total of what you will need. ill provide you with the product that is reccommended for gerbils and there price.

    $6 est.

    Wheel:

    $7 est.

    Minimum (supplies) Total: $45 est

Full Total (supplies plus TWO gerbils) $70 est.

that is the bare minimum for getting gerbils. bedding and food will be a monthly expense. cheaper generic brands of bedding can be bought at walmart for around $5. that should cover everything you need. the only thing that is optional on that list is the hut. to save up, keep ALL of your change, cut back on spending almost completely. the only other thing i would suggest is buying in moderation. save up for the things induvidually and put it all together while your saving up for the little gerbils. that way you don't have to dish out $75 at once, just over a couple of months gradually.
