How can i say great parents without repeating the word?

i am writing an essay and i need to compare good parents with bad parents. i do not want to keep using the word good an great so i need another way to say great parents. here is an example "one similarity with jeannettes parents and a good parent is that..." how can i reword that make it mean the sae thing but use diferent words?

I agree with all the suggested synonyms for "great" as descriptions for parenting, but one note: The use of the word "great" is subjective, and in essay writing this is certainly appropriate, BUT, you might want to qualify whichever word you choose to make it specific. This will really help diversify the expression of "good" parenting. Here's an example:

    "One similarity between Jeannette's parents and other morally concerned parents is that..."

    (I've also changed "with" to "between")

    As well, since being a parent is based on actions, I might also use the word "effective", because this suggests that the description ("good", "bad", etc) modifies/relates to the act of parenting and not just the person's individual character alone.
