i'm nearly 14 and play soccer for my local youth team as a midfielder/defender, but in 3 seasons i have never scored a goal. i am good at shooting from distance and i can also score curlers and sometimes one on ones. i can do all these in training but never in matches. the other day i realised it was because i hadn't really had many chances how can i make more?

  1. well if u r defender than u dont even score the goals midfielders and forwards score the goals but when u r midfield u could score goals but its more up 2 the forwards - control the ball dont go fast just control the ball

  2. lets face it PRACTICE

  3. When your team is facing a "weaker" team build up a counter attack and have a player pass you the ball and shoot from out of the box and then return quickly to your position. You can switch roles up to forward and have a forward become a midfielder while you attack then return to your original positions. It happens in Soccer all the time so just build that team chemistry. And the reason I said, "weaker" was because a stronger team might score on you if you s***w up the counter attack and hit you with one of their own.

  4. You have to play as a team. You are a defensive midfielder right? Your priority is to defend not to score. So let the strikers perform their roles and you can supply through balls and long passes. But when and only when opportunity presents itself, then score.

  5. Easy

ask for one - twos inside or a bit further outside the box then you can shoot

                                                  OR

Ask to take penaltys and free kicks

  6. lets face it...u arent the one that is supposed to score da goals...rather try to set them up 4 ur teammates

  7. Attack the ball on set pieces, especially corners if playing central midfield and then mark up or get back into position quickly. Not only will this increase you chance of scoring, but will make your team better as well. Most midfielders will end up with a few goals a year, you just have to be prepared to finish when you do get the opportunity.

  8. dont be scared to shoot if you feel you got the chance. if you dont take a shot, you'll never make a goal
