  1. like the answerer above me said, its illegal

    plus..

the ancient treasures in Egypt doesn't contain gold or metal material to use your metal detector!

it called treasures due to the historical value for it, not the money value.. if sold "and that's illegal too" will worth more than gold and gems!!

besides you cant just take your detector and wonder around!! its not "the no owners land"!!

  2. You can't, legally... that is called LOOTING and it can land you in JAIL for a LONG TIME.

Check with the Dept. of Antiquities and talk to them.  Maybe they will let you go along on a LEGAL dig.

  3. Since you live in Alex. you can search in the Biboliotheca Alexnadrina for books about Egypt's history (there are loads of it) you might find stuff about the lost treasures of Egypt, you can also google it.

Of course you can't use metal detectors! it's illegal...

Well, as for Alexandria; you may not know that the new Alexandria (the one that we live on now) is built above the ancient city. If you visited the Roman theater in Alexandria you'll find it beneath the land level. They found it by chance when the land suddenly collapsed and they found it beneath. All (wel...most of) the antiquities in Alexandria is underneath the ground so there might be more antiquities and sites under all the city!!

The same in Luxor and Aswan, there are lots of treasures, maybe also hidden tombs underground!
