I use u-torrent for my downloads and i wanted to know if i enable encryption and disallow legacy connections my identity and info. is secure.

Encryption only tries to hide itself, the torrent protocol, from your internet service provider.

Some ISPs block the torrent protocol, stopping your or slow down your torrent transfers.

There are ways to hide your IP address, but it's not easy and only for highly experienced users, in regards to bittorrent.

If you're concerned about your IP address being seen/known, then I suggest you look into Usenet, which is the NNTP protocol. Highly secure and private. However, it will cost money to get a Usenet provider. But worth it.
