  1. Gold has a specific density of 19.3 grams per cubic centimeter. First, weigh the chain on a gram scale. Next, get a graduated cylinder, put a specific amount of water in it (write down how much) then add the chain. Notice how much water the chain displaces. Divide the weight of the chain by how many milliliters of water were displaced (one milliliter of water= 1 cubic centimeter.) If the answer is 19.3 than you have a gold chain.

Or, as Jordan said, you could ask a jeweler to take a look at it.

    Good luck!

  2. you could go and ask some jeweler to have a look at it or you could pour some vinegar and observe it for a couple of days. If it does tarnish then it's fake and when it doesn't it real..

  3. Hold up a long piece of hair, and put it tightly against a flat service of the chain. With a lit cigarrette hold the cherry up against the hair that's on the chain and if it's gold, then it WONT burn the hair! If it's a big fake then it will sizzle the hair right off!!! It's quite amazing!

  4. if you bite it, your teeth should tingle. Thats how the gold miners in the old days could tell

  5. what part of mythology and folklore did u not get

  6. There are usually numbers stamped into the ring or clasp of a gold chain. Either telling the carats, or a special numbers jewelers know.

  7. take it 2 a jewler an get it checked out
