I assume that you have dial-up?  then you will need software like callwave.com

if you want to use this service, you will have to call your phone provider and tell them you need the "call forwarding on busy"  feature!!

There are many Telco's and VoIP services that you can subscribe to "Call Waiting with Caller ID" features.

So, if you have a Call Waiting feature on your phone service, and Caller-ID enabled, it is possible to see the Caller-ID of the calling party, even when you are currently on another call.

Two VoIP services that offer this feature are CallCentric and InPhonex.

So, it is just a matter of whether or not your service provider offers Call Waiting with Caller-ID features.
