  1. I think Cody's Mom has the right answer, however if you want to go really cheap you can take two 1 and 1/2 inch PVC  "T" fittings put a 1 foot piece of pipe on them and on the "T" put a 6 foot piece with a 90 degree elbow and conect them with another length to fit the space this gives you a hanging rack to cover with a king size sheet and is lightweight enough to move around.  As long as you do not glue it together you will be able to take it apart and store it out of sight when not in use, or when you no longer need it.

If this is a more permanent wall you can always use pressure.  By building the frame then placing wedges every 6 inches apart on the sides and top you will be able to wedge the wall in place.  Do not use large wedges as you only need gentle pressure with the number of wedges I recomended.  You will have to place one wedge on each side of the divider opposing each other to keep everything squared up.

  2. 1. move your book case in between the living room and bedroom

    2. move your wardobes(measuse and decorate the back of your wardobes with a carpet or staple a straw mat on it) in between the living room and bedroom

    3. use some pots of tall indoor plants

    4. Stick 2 removeable hooks on the ceiling tie a thick fishing line to them, hang a light weight sheer

    5. Buy or make a screen

    6. Paint the two room in different colour

  3. As suggested above there are Japanese screen dividers. There are Indian wooden ones (heavy in weight), they work as dividers too. They also fold up like collapsing the panels, so you could store it against the wall and have your large space. These screens don't extend to all the way to the ceiling, so you are seperating the space like office cubics - there islimited privacy.

  4. You can use a Japanese Shoji screen to separate the areas, or you can use curtains. I think the screen will look better.
