How can i set a reminder for a show on dish network?

every time i trie to set a reminder on my dish network it only programs it to be recoreded....is there anyway to just set a reminder?

go to the show you want to watch & push slect then go from there go to timer page then go to timer type  and pick reminder then go back to creat and push slect
