  1. Contact "One Voice" group.  Interesting group supporting the moderates of both sides.

You obviously don't know much about the situation though.  It's not about past feuds, but has underlying issues that are nearly impossible to resolve.  Only the media makes it seem to be about ti-ts & tats, often they themselves have said because they haven't had the resources to train their reporters in the full complex background of the region.

    Consider the positions:

    - No one but Arabs may rule the middle east.  Therefore the Jews do not have a right to a country & stole our space.

    - Jews have lived there for over 3000+ years, have a right to self-rule, bought land & built one.

Now -- resolve that...please.  Add Iran's religious threats to annilate Israel using Hizbollah, Hamas & Syria.  Then add Saudi Arabia & Eygypts fear of Iran going nuclear & taking over the region (an old, old feud), along side their dislike of Israel's existence.  And that's just the beginning of a very long topic.

Hope you have a good trip.  May you learn about Judaism & Islam & learn that they have value.  My Christian roommate who wanted to convert me...wound up talking about converting to Judaism.  You're missing out on respecting two other reliigions.  That kind of thinking is what leads to religious wars.  (The Israel -Arab problem isn't a religious war, it's political.)

    Can

If only it could be.  If the Israelis leave the west bank, the Arabs will pummel Israel's main population centers.  AS Israel left Gaza, the Arabs started shelling south Israel nearby & haven't stopped since.  Logistically the WB gives them close access.  Israel has voted during Oslo to leave the WB but Arafat walked away from negotations.  Israel voted in Kadima party on the platform of leaving Gaza & WB, but after Gaza & the north attack, couldn't or it'd be too dangerous.  Israel wants peace, but needs a partner that doesn't want to annilate her.

  2. Don't go unless you have a lot of prayer support back home.

    Good luck.

  3. I think getting groups around the world to pray for peace in the Middle East might be more effective...

  4. Pass out kosher chocolate bars.

Prayer won't work because you know people are already praying for peace every day.

  5. Shouldn't you have had an idea how you could do this before taking on this task?

I know how to show love, but how to teach others to show love? You need to teach them tolerance, forgiveness.. Ask God for help in your plan.

  6. And what will you be preaching besides "love?"  Christianity, by any chance?

If that's the case, you are very naive.  Get the Israelites out of the West Bank, and maybe there will be peace and love.

In the meantime, seeing that fighting in that area has been going on for thousands of years, I don't expect some well intentioned individual to make a dent in their philosophies of who owns what land.

Both sides feel god is on their side.  God, gave the land to both groups, in essence, and if you start preaching Christianity, you better have body guards.

I hate to be that blunt, but I think my view is more realistic than yours.

OH, I just saw your addendum.

"it just saddens me that people as young as 9years old are being taught to idolized a martyr."

Was not Jesus a martyr?  And people begin teaching the young Christians from birth!
