I have 4 old candles I want to combine, so they will fit in this square vase I have. What is the easiest way to do this? Just stick them in a pot, and melt them on low heat or what ?

  1. More is correct.  I use old coffee cans in an old pot of simmering water.  Add scented oil if you like when the wax has melted.  Cotton twine makes good wicks.  Suggest putting news paper under the vase to reduce clean up.

You'll want to stir the hardening wax to prevent "funnelling" along the wick.  Add more melted wax to that void as it cools.

  2. you can try to melt it in the microwave but a cheap pot from the thrift store will work also. get a new wick that is long enough for your container and dip it into some wax and hold it till it dries in the spot you want it (if it's a wide container you may want more than one wick in it) then pour in the rest of the melted wax.

  3. Use a throwaway metal container (can, pie tin) and immerse that in a pot of boiling water. Melt the candles together in that.

Meanwhile, set up your wick in vase and use a stick or a straw to hold it there. When your wax is melted pull out the container and pour that into the vase, let it cool and you're done.
