  1. ok. i think u should lean your shoulders back and walk straight foward. also, as an exercise, at home, sit in chairs that have no back support and sit up straight, until u can master it. as well sleep in the bed cuz the floor will make it worse. if that doesnt help see a doctor cuz u mite hav scoliosis.

  2. I have this problem too, but mine doesn't sound so severe as yours.

You could try a back brace, that is the only thing guaranteed to help and not talk back to you.

If you have the will power just try to remember to stand up straight.  you can tell your self if u dont fix this problem now your going to be a 90 degree angle when your 70, hunched over only seeing the wonderful world of sidewalks.

If you dont want to have a back brace, try taping it in a way where u feel pain if you dont have correct posture...

or surgery might be an option if this is a really severe problem.

if youve had bad posture for a really long time it probably feels normal in that position, so remind your self if your back feels normal your arent having good posture. its going to be uncomfortable for awhile but it will be worth it, also try strenghning your back muscle to help that natural pose

  3. just lean your shoulders back everytime you feel your slouching.

  5. 1. Praying for it to go away wont make it go away.

    2. You might have scoliosis, I couldn't tell of course because I can't see you.

  6. It's a bit difficult to know how to help you without knowing exactly what your problem is - like - is it just that your posture is poor, or do you have some sort of physical problem with your spine that prevents you from standing straight and tall?  Also, are you very tall?  Often very tall people (especially females) sub-consciously slump their shoulders to make themselves appear shorter than they actually are.  Slumped shoulders then become their normal posture throughout their lives.

If the latter, there's not really a lot you can do other than consult with medical professionals about possible treatments for whatever your problem is.

If it's just that your posture is poor, there's a lot you can do about this but it's not easy and requires dedication and commitment to wanting to stand (and sit) straight and tall all the time.

Firstly, you need to understand what good posture actually is.  Put simply, it's holding your body in a straight, erect posture so that your spine is straight rather than looking like a piece of cooked spaghetti.  When someone with good posture stands straight, their shoulders are back and straight to the point where their shoulder blades are in alignment with their bottom, which should be tucked in nice and tight.

This doesn't mean rotating your pelvis forward either (like runway models do) to compensate for having to put your shoulders back.

A really strong back lends itself to really good posture, so you need to do some exercises to strengthen your back muscles (you can find these on most arthritis websites).  Standing straight is, for most people, difficult (just about everyone has poor posture, some worse than others) so if you're trying to improve your posture you need to be conscious of it all the time - including when you are seated.

Stop sleeping on the floor too - this will give you back problems, not improve your posture.

Another good tip for good posture is to not wear really high heels - these alter the centre of balance of the body, usually forcing the wearer to tilt backwards to compensate .... not good for standing straight (and h**l on the spine over a long period).

You can also purchase (from speciality lingerie stores) "posture bras" which act like a brace in support of straight shoulders.  They aren't particularly comfortable, but they do a good job while you're trying to learn how to stand tall and straight.

You are obviously totally peed off with everyone dissing you about this, so now is the time to correct it.  You can achieve good posture if you really want it badly enough.

Even if you are 6 foot tall, be proud of it - stand straight and tall and look down on everyone who has a problem with it.  The other really good thing about achieving good posture is that it increases your self confidence no end ... when you stand straight and tall you just feel good.

So ...... stop stressing about this and do something about it!  Good luck!
