How can i start getting into photography?

i like to take pictures, im only 14. whats a good camera to start? and were do you find your insteration? i might be taking classes next year in highschool too.

  1. If you do photography classes in school, you will need a film camera, because you will most likely be using a darkroom and developing/printing your own photos.

    I suggest you start off with a simple point and shoot camera, like lomos (www.lomogrpahy.com) however, some photography classes ask for you to have a "proper" film camera with all the features such as aperture, shutter speed dial, ASA dial, F-stop ring, etc.

    I also recommend you go ask friends and family if they have any old film cameras you can borrow.

    And also, just have fun with it. Find a camera that takes a style of photo that you like and just practice by taking photos around your house, in your garden... be creative!
