  1. The best way to get started is to get out there. Audition for anything you can find. It's great your aunt wants to be your agent. Don't pay for an agent if you're just starting. Ideally, you should move to the town that drives your desire - L.A. for movies/TV and New York or Seattle for stage acting. Obviously, not everybody can pick up and move so look locally. I started in children's theatre and moved my way up. You can start looking for auditions in your area with http://www.auditions.com/ or the local newspaper and take a look at the talent section of Craigslist. A lot of indie movie makers post for actors on Craigslist and sometimes there may not be pay, but there will be the experience and a copy of your work. So, experience is the key. Acting lessons aren't needed this early in your career because you’ll learn what you need by getting out there and getting experience and taking every part, no matter how small, to build your career. Break a leg!

  2. have you seen http://www.actingsoup.com - it is a new, free social network for actors & actresses of all levels of experience...from starting out to well known professionals. You can upload open video/audition clips and connect with other actors to get advice, join specialist acting groups etc. there are casting agent & producer groups too so you never know who might spot you. if you have any talent you can more exposure online via a social networking community like that than going to a hundred auditions
