  1. best way to start is to open a website. it is so easy these days. there are tons of templates and help available

have a look at where 2upload.com

and, if you don't want to manage an ecommerce website that adds some cost in the beginning, open an e-Bay account/ store and refer to it from your website.

Once you start selling ... sky is the limit.

    good luck!

  2. I make jewelry as a hobby.  I will sell them on ebay sometimes, sometimes the local ads like Craigslist.  I also like to sell some on consignment (meaning, I go to consignment stores, they display the jewelry and sell it for a fraction of the purchase price....  so if a peice of jewelry sold for 10$, the store would take 2 out and give me 8.)

The thing here is...   beads and beading are expensive.  Some things like plastic pony beads are cheeper, but if you want anything glass or with hand made beads that you rpurchase, it will get expensive fast.  While I have some peices that only cost a dollar or 2 to make, I also have peices that cost about 20 to make.  Things like hemp jewelry or other things that use more string than beads are going to be the cheepest to make.

Something else that you may want to do is look into how to make your own beads.  Like you can make the clay beads farily easy.  The glass beads are a lil harder to make and require a lil more investment because you have to melt the glass and stuff, but can be fun.

Do some research.  Go to your local craft stores, walmart, anywhere that sells beads and supplies in your area.  Check the phone book for specialty shops.  And check the internet.  Price compare.  Take a note book with you and make notations, even a digital camera if you want.  You will notice that a lot of places have the same design of beads, if not the exact same bead, but at drastically different prices.  You will also find that some places have some awesome stuff that you cant find anywhere else.

Ask your parents or any other trusted adult for help and advice as well.

  4. If you wanna make money you gotta learn how to design your beaded jewelry. Once you make a good design you can make it over and over again and sell them at places like etsy.com

  5. Hi! I started a business when I was a junior in highschool because I had made so much jewelry that I had to sell it! (I still have the business, and its been worth the effort for the past 5 years) Like everyone, I started off small with a few beads and supplies from michaels, acmoors and joanns. (It never hurts to look out for sales on beading items and use coupons). Once I saved up a lot of money, and knew of a lot of things i needed, I ordered from a beading company (fire mountain gems and beads). If you order a lot at once they offer big discounts (purchace more than 5 items, get a discount. purchase more than 25, get another, bigger discount) I usually order if I know I need a lot of supplies, or if I know that the catalogue will save me money) (remember, buying supplies is like investing in your business. You may need a lot at first, and you might not make a profit right away, but keep selling and then you'll break even, and then make a profit) Once you have enough jewelry made (you don't have to have a ton) you can think about selling. Remember, don't think too big at this point, you are just starting. Look areound in your local pennysaver or online and find a craft show. Start at a small one, like a church or school. (keep in mind craft shows charge anywhere from $15-$50 to have a booth) If you are selling online, try etsy.com. You will need business cards to pass out to people who look at your jewelry, and people who buy from you. I have learned a lot about this from years of trials and failures. doing research online about what others have done, and what has worked for them will help a lot!
