I had surgery on my nose a month ago. Nothing too major, but now when i try to run i start feeling sick. Bad cramps, nausea, etc. I had been running frequently before, and as a matter of fact ran over 14 mi. in a relay two days before my surgery. Any suggestions?

  1. put one foot in front of the other and start with a brisk walk, increase from there

  2. I agree to start with some walking and even mix it up with walking and running.  Maybe even some cross training to get your breathing rhythm.  Be patient, and things will come around.  You've done this before, so keep working towards it.  You'll be back before you know it.  Good luck!

  3. Your nose just had surgery, believe it or not your nose needs a break as well. You will have to treat it as if it were an injury. In a sense you willl have to learn how to breath again. By that I mean when you run start off easy and also if possible try not to run in super dry, cold, or hot air this will only aggravate your nose. The bad cramps would be caused because you are breathing differently and that could be why you feel nauseas as well. Just try coming back into the running slowly and focus on the way you are breathing. Don't be affraid to breath through your mouth every now and again to give your nose a little break while you are running. Good luck!

  4. Think positive.
