In australia you have to be 16 to start to learning how to drive. I'm 14 years and 9 months old and i cant wait to get my L's!! Iv even done the practice test on line and passes :)

How can i deal with having to wait 15 more months??

  1. patience is just a sign of maturity. I'm sure a ten year old could pass a permit test if he/she studied for it. Being able to wait will do u some good when you actually get your license because a big part of driving is patience and being courteous. In the meantime, you could get a bike or try public transportation.

  2. Keeping your mind focused on other things should help a lot.

If your parents are willing, perhaps they will let you drive a little in parking lots or back-roads with them in the car.  But if they are not do not sneak around behind their backs.  It will not go well.

I have heard a lot of bad stories of children not willing to wait.  Ferris Buhler's Day Off might be a good movie to watch in order to explain the pitfalls of driving without parental permission.  Excuse me while visions of a red convertible flying out the back of the garage fill my head.  I know it's a movie, but there is plenty of real-life examples to make the movie true-to-life.

Time will pass.  I assure you. Then you may wish you were young and carefree again.

  3. Don't wait, start learning now. My son is 17 yrs old now & a very good driver. He started driving at 9 yrs old, off road.
