How can i stop a collection company from calling me?

I owe money to a credit card company that got sent to collections. Unfortunately I am in the real estate industry and can't afford to pay this. How can I get this collection company to stop harrassing me

You COULD tell them that you are dead....but that would be dishonest...  :)

You can't until you pay.  I recommend seeing if you can block the number or just ignore the calls.

ok, my brother had the same problem...

if the company you owe money to do not speak english well all you have to say is "i cant understand you" and just keep at them that u dont understand them, and eventually they will hang up... the new law is that if the customers can not understand the workers they will get the sack if too many complaints.

but if they are australian than u just keep hanging up on them, or speak to someone in power....

i just abuse h**l out of them when they keep calling looking for my brother.. i said to one indian that if she kept calling i was going to call her manager and get her fired... and touch wood she has never called back

pay the bill you shouldn't use the card  if you can't pay it. would you loan money to someone who couldn't pay you back.

Unfortunatly you will eventually have to pay. They will hunt you down like an animal. Even if you are poor they will keep calling you untill you agree to pay them a little something each month. Set up a payment plan, tell them you can only afford $5 bucks a month. that'll keep them from hounding you. Just don't charge anymore.  Like i said, pay only what you can afford. Maybe you can change your telephone number to an  unlisted one, that might work. Good luck.
