I'm a 17 year old girl, and for quite a few months now, i have developed this problem with food. I can't seem to stop myself binge eating. I don't do it every day but i do it at least 3 times a week. It's terrible, and afterwards i can't stop crying because i feel so down and ugly after doing it. In fact, i have binged all day today. I just get this urge to eat and i can't stop thinking about food. It's all i can think about and at that moment it's like all i need to make me happy is food so i eat and eat and eat. I only stop when i feel like i'm going to be sick and that's when i come to my senses and begin to feel terrible, emotionally and physically. I don't know why i keep binge eating like this. I don't eat unhealthily. In fact, on the days when i don't binge eat, i eat very healthily. This is my typical diet:

Breakfast= Either weetabix or porridge or muesli with fruit

Lunch= Brown bread sandwhich with tuna fish, or low fat cottage cheese.

yoghurt with mixed nuts and sunflower seeds

fruit

Dinner= Salmon fillet, with carrots broccoli and a sweet potato

Dessert= Fruit with quark (soft low fat cheese)

I also make sure i exercise, going to the gym at least 3 times a week. So why do i keep binging like this?? I don't know why i do it. Well today i started off eating healthily but then i felt like treating myself at lunch time and i had some cake, and then one thing led to another. I started to feel extremely guilty about eating the cake, and i kind of felt like drowning my sorrows i guess which is why i binged all day. God, i wish i could stop doing it. It makes me so depressed. How can i get on top of this binge eating problem?? I just want to be normal. Please help me.

  1. Binge eating disorder.

Do you live on your own?

    How old are you??

if you live on your own, don't buy foods you'll binge on, don't shop whilst hungry, stick notes on cupboards, fridges, freezers, anything that contains food and may trigger binging.

    See your doctor?

If you don't live on your own (still with parents)

    just make sure you're distracted,

computer, tidy up or clean things, take dog for walk, draw, watch films, go to gym, go for a walk, anything to take your mind of food.

You've probably lost the ability to tell when you're hungry and when you're full. I can't help you with that.

Except - when you get the urge to eat drink as much water as you possibly can, it's very filling and should only give you water weight.

    Hope I helped.

  2. GET HELP NOW.

    YOU CAN DIE, FROM THIS.

you will lose tooo much body fat & not be able to support your body.

& you'll probably end up gaining more weight, because when you eat & eat & then throw up, you're losing all of your food. so it's like you're not eating anything.

then your body will go into starvation mode & any food you get will turn automatically to fat.

  3. You should eat 6 small meals a day. No more than 350 cal. per meal. Try it this is supposed to fill you up without binging. Also drink lots of water. 48oz. a day at least.

  4. sounds like u may have this thing called a fat jean i would speck to youur doctor or nurse as some people have a problum

  5. just stop and right it down and if ur about to do it do sumthing els! STOP !!!!!!! good luck.

  6. The foods you deny yourself are the ones you will crave the most, I think you should try the 'weekend off' eating lifestyle. You eat healthy within the week, but at weekends you treat yourself to whatever you fancy, so you do get your fix, but if it's quite uncontrollable for you then maybe you should only have a small portion of cake/etc in the house at a time, or freeze the rest of the cake so there's no way you can eat it, it's what I do a lot. =]
