Question:

How can i stop eating just for a while until my digestive problems ease up?

if i just drink all day im fine but solid food makes me feel so sick but i just eat anyway. im not sure which is making me feel more sick my stomach medicine or food. i just wish i could stop eating solid food for a few days to see if it eases at all. =( the tum medicine is supposed to take 6-9 months and the more i eat the longer it takes to work. im obviously not going to not eat for 6-9 months but just let it reast for at least a day.. how can i give up solid food for a few days? or at least one?

  1. We cannot answer this question for you.  Take it from someone who has a digestive disease (colitis).  You cannot take these kinds of matters into your own hands until you have spoken to your doctor first.  

    You should sit down with the doctor that prescribed the medication to you and ask them how you can deal with it.  Unfortunately medicine doesn't always work right away but you are not the first one to ever take it and your not the only person with this problem so the doctor will know of some things to help you along with this.  Explain what the problem is and ask for help!

    Perhaps you could search for a support group for the condition you have.  People with the same diagnosis can give you advice as well.  

    Only drinking (and not eating) is not good for people with digestive conditions.  It may make ou feel worse to eat but if you only drink your body isn't getting the nutrients it needs.  

    Make sure you take vitamins regardless of what you eat.  Also, try foods that are easy on your stomach and easy to digest.  For example,.. you can eat baby food (which is really just mashed cooked veggetables) or you could mash your own.  Stay away from spices and sugars (which means stay away from a lot of bread as well).

    Eat lots of yogurt.  It has friendly bacteria in it to coat your tummy and help it heal.  You could also go to a health food store and buy something called 'acedophilus - this is a supplement that contains the healthy bacteria found in yogurt... but X a billion (I'm not exaggerating).  You can break open this capsules and put the powder in yogurt.  This is very very very good for people with digestive problems.  It helps your digesive system be in proper working order and prevents bad bacteria from growing and causing infection.  Just go to a health food store and ask the employyes for acidophilus for disgestive problems... they can explain everything to you.

  2. You have to eat something or you will get sicker. Try drinking gatorade and eat yogurt. You can get different flavors.

  3. eat mint chewing gum, it takes ur hunger away coz wen i didnt like eating food thts what i did, just dnt make ur self ill ova it, its not worth it !!

  4. Have you tried taking things like Enzymatic Therapy Acidophilus Pearls to help aid in food digestion.

    In terms of tum medicine do you mean you have a stomach ulcer.

  5. i wouldn't advise you to stop eating but you could keep brushing your teeth so nothing will taste good its quite strange but it's good :)

  6. What u mean by digestive problems? Like u get the craps often or you just have alot of discomfort?
