  1. why would you want to stop getting child support?  This money is for the child, if you don't need it open a 529 college savings plan and deposit the support in it so your child can get a headstart on cllege expenses

  2. Do not stop the process for getting child support.

First, it is not yours to give up.  Child support is one of the few rights belonging to the child.  You can give up alimony, if you want to.

And, even if you are "getting the money I need regularly now", having the court order and a record of payments through the court registry is much better.  That way, there is no disagreement about what was paid and when.

  3. You can withdraw your application by contacting the attorney general. I don't know what your situation is, but if you don't need the child support, put it in savings or a trust for your kids. It could pay for their first car or college or something later. The kids will be grateful for it!

  4. In a week how can you know if you are getting it regularly?  It needs to be paid through the system so there is no dispute.
