  1. im the opposite im not mean, well a little cold, but i want to give a nice vibe, but people's first impression on me is that im cold, or stuck up, all i do is just not smile and not say hi to people only give a little smile instead, also i dont chat alot, i dont make small talk, so u can try to do that if u really want to

  2. Take a look at your face in the mirror when you think you have a "neutral" expression on it.  You might find that your face (like millions of others'), natually frowns when it's not smiling.  This can be mistaken for being cold/mean.

Do you wear eye makeup?  Surprisingly some subtle eye makeup can do wonders for having people read your facial expressions correctly.  Even cats are affected (really, try it, see how a spooky cat acts toward you if you stop wearing -or start - eye makeup for a week).  Try a little bit of blended brown eye liner and some mascara - that's all you need.

Finally, make sure you always greet people with a smile, even if you don't smile a lot.  And remember to raise, not lower, your brows when you smile.  The eyebrow raise has had a lot of research done on it - it's why people think dogs are more friendly, because you can see their eyebrow expressions, unlike cats.

Say positive things, and avoid all sarcasm if you want to seem more friendly.  You can have a laugh about something sarcastic, later, with a friend who trusts you or alone.

    Hope that helps!

  3. I know this will get a thumbs down or two since I'm not answering your question... but I completely have this problem too!  Thanks for asking this!

  4. I had the same problem - I resolved it by making a conscience effort to smile a LOT more!  And keeping my head full of positive thoughts, making positive comments to others and reading books on positive thinking (like "Balcony People").  I am extremely shy by nature and this was by no means easy, but it really isn't that hard now - I do it without thinking much about it!

  5. call people "dear" , nod more, give a smile every 10 or 15 minutes of speaking or listening to people, offer them sweets, ask how are they when you see them etc.
