I have two hamsters. A female short haired hamster, and a female long haired teddy bear hamster. When i first got them the would just sniff each other and chase each other.I dont know if they just souldnt be together or what. One time my long haired kinda just started attacking the other, But it seemed more like jumping and pouncing and pushing each other over.Their was no bitting, and i doubt they were just playing. Now every time they get near each other it seems like one sneezes, and keeps doing it till they are seperated. It doesnt sound like a squeak.I try to let them go near each other, But if they dislike each other i rather not stress them out.

  1. they don't seem to like each other. id keep them separate.

  2. You CAN'T stop this fighting.

'Teddy bear' hamsters (long or short hair) are types of Syrian hamster.

They are /very/ aggressive and must be kept alone- in the wild, they barely come together to mate, and will fight to the death if they encounter another hamster.

So there's nothing you can do to stop the fighting- get another cage, or return the newest one, or it's going to end in bloodshed.

  3. Please listen to Law L. Your hamsters are not going to stop fighting so you need to keep them separated. Why didn't you find out about hamsters and whether you could put them together before you got them?
