  1. Okay no funny answers, just the truth.  Pay them, they are calling you about the over the limit amount and the fees.  So, you will have to pay that amount asap, to get them off your back.  Actually going over the limit, will have them hounding you worse than being late.  Just try to find a way to pay them that over the limit amount before you next statement, or the cycle will continue and get worse.

  2. It's your doing.  Get your balance under your limit and keep it there.

  3. First any time you are not paying them the minimum required you are delinquent.  This is just as bad as if you were not paying anything at all.   After several months of this they can "charge-off" your account and send it to a collection agency.

Now, if this is still with your credit card company and not a collection agency you need to call them ASAP before this happens.  If you let them know you are having problems they MAY be able to adjust your payments to a manageable level for a few months.  But you have to communicate with them.

If your debt has already been sold to a collection agency you can send them a "Cease Communications" letter which basically tells them that they can no longer phone you.  However, that does not make the debt go away and they can still take further action(suit) if they want.

  4. Pay your bill in full.  They will stop calling.

  5. If you are making the monthly payment perhaps you can call them and explain that you are doing all that you can right now to pay them back and ask for the phone calls to stop. Otherwise just stop taking the calls.

  6. u can write a cease & desist letter or tell them not 2 call anymore. U can also change yer ph # & block yer #. Additionally, U can drop yer lan line & stick 2 cell phones. Finally, U can leave the state, because creditors know if U leave their S.O.L.

    Best Wishes!!!

  7. ask for help from friends or family. Do this before they send you to collections.

Legally, they can call every 20mins.

  8. It might be time to consider credit counseling. They have the ability to consolidate your debt, in some cases (not as many today as in the past, unfortunately) reduce your interest.

You pay the credit counselor under what's called a "debt management plan," and they pay the creditor.

It's painful, but it stops the calls.

Make sure any credit counselor you pick is accredited by the NFCC or the AICCCA (add a .org to the end of those initials to look them up online).

  9. I know how this goes.   I went through it with Visa, calling me at work 12 times in one morning.   I finally transcribed the phone calls (I'm a transcriptionist).   I transcribed every little nasty comment and every threat the guy could dream up to use on me.  I sent a letter along with the transcribed telephone conversations and informed them that they had just kissed that money good-bye.   By the way,  I was actually paying them, had made payment arrangements and had not missed any of my scheduled payments, but they apparently did not communicate with each other at the credit card company.   If you have caller ID, don't answer the phone.  If they do get you on the phone, set the phone down and walk away.   Hang it up  in about an hour.   If they call you at work, you need to tell them not to.   They can't call before or after certain times (something like 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., I believe) at your home.   I am sure you are totally stressed out and have many more bills to pay.   Tell them you put all the bills in a hat and pull out one a week to pay.  Tell them that you won't put their bill in the hat any more if they continue to harass you.   Sorry about your bad luck.

  10. The only way to get them to stop calling you is to pay enough so that you are under your credit limit.  They are going to keep adding on fees every month that you are over your limit too.

  11. If you tell them to stop they must by law.  Send certified letter.  They can still sue you but they won't be able to call.

  12. Are you making your minimum payment? If not, then they can call you. What you can do is simply ask them to stop calling you. If you are over the limit, then they are just wanting you to get under that limit, but by asking them not to call, it should stop the calls.

To protect you, you can write a letter telling them to stop, and send it via certified mail, that way you know they got it. That should also stop.

What i said though is based on if its in collections or not.

Other than that, you could answer and when they say anything, tel them you are selling a kidney to pay them off, or something else that is funny. The thing is, they are heartless, you could tell them you are dying, and they would still ask you if you could pay them off before you die.

You best bet, as long as you are over, you will be charged rediculous amounts until you are back under your max. Say you are over by $100, they will charge you $30 over draft fees each month. The longer you let it go, the higher you are over. They wil probably shut the card off, where you can use it anymore, and then start a collection on thedebt, because you might not even be covering the over draft charge, like you are paying $20 a month, so they might see it as you are not paying on the debt itself, just the over draft fees. So, do whatever you can, but get the limit below the max, and then start paying what you are doing. You might have to go without for a month or two, but get this knocked down. Its all they want is money.

EDIT:   Menelas, way to copy my ENTIRE answer. Can't think for yourself huh?

  13. change numbers and then forget em, save up money for a couple months like 8 and then try settling the acct

  14. You must be really over your limit or they would only be calling you once or twice a day.  Stop using your card, cut it up if you have to.  Be polite to the nice people when they call.  Make at least the minimum monthly payment.  After you get the card paid to your limit the calls will stop, then just keep paying until you get it paid off.  Cancel your account and never get another credit card.

  15. When you accepted the credit card you signed stating that you would make the minimum payment and it was also in your terms and conditions that if you went over your credit limit you will be charge a fee for going over the credit limit.

MasterCard or any other credit company only call because you are not paying, you knew when you used the card you could afford to pay them back.

If you need something and you can't pay cash then you don't need it and can't afford it.

Hope you learn a lesson and realize you are ruining your credit, they will continue to call until you pay, and they have every right to call because you are now label "as won't pay"

  16. If you go over limit you get hit with a over limit fee.  Typically your minimum payment will include the interest, fees, and whatever it takes to get below your limit.  If you fail to make that minimum payment, you get hit with late fees on top of the over limit fees.  If you continue in this way, you will end up with universal default rates.

If you have some temporary financial problem, call them and work something out.  Otherwise, start advertising that kidney for sale if that what it takes to get your account back under the limit.  Although there are probably a few things to bring in some cash that you could do before selling the kidney -- garage sale, collect alum cans, second job, mow some lawns ....

Oh, and I bet you are not actually talking to those collectors when they call.  It's all messages.  If you actually spoke to them, they wouldn't be calling 5 times a day.
