  1. well you cant its nature that a bird will make noise in the morning my tiels sound like the armys drum roll in the morning llolz

  2. get one of those cage covers. When a bird is put in darkness they fall asleep. It actually does work

  3. i know about how loud they can get but what i would suggest is to put a blanket or something like that over the birds cage that is what i have to do when my bird gets to loud. they will carry on for a little bit but then its really quiet.

  4. well is anyone else liiving with you?

because if you cover ur parrot when you go to work the poor thing will be left in darkness all day untill you get home and that would be cruel so if there is another member in your household then you can cover your AG and when the other person wakes up they can uncover him/her. otherwise theres nothing you can really do.

  5. You will probably not like this answer, but if your not home all day and the bird is left alone in his cage he is living a pretty miserable life. Do you have a friend, family member or even a neighbor that could come over and make friends with the bird, letting him out of the cage for a while? When gone away for a few hours, I leave a couple of cd's playing to entertain my grey. She loves it and tells me "I want music" when she's alone in her room. Can you take him to work? I know that may sound unrealistic, but sometimes, especially if you work in an office, you can. Other than that, I'd consider selling your bird to someone who has more time for him. I'm not trying to be mean or judgemental. It's just that African Grey's are flock birds and don't like to be left alone for extended periods. Sometimes we need to think about what would be best for them.

  6. PUT A COVER around the cage.. that will make the bird's surroundings dark and that will put him to sleep...

do that while you go to work!

  7. Like to first answer, a cage cover!

This generally works, because the bird thinks its night-time and has to go to sleep!

Don't go all out and buy an expensive cover, even if you have a large coat or blanket works great!

    Hope this helps!

  8. Well, you can't 100% stop him from waking up and making up noise.  He is a bird than that is what  he does. Mine does the same thing, gets up right when i do.

You can try a cage cover, i know that it works with smaller birds. My budgie used to shut right up when i covered his cage. However, i am not sure african greys are as easily outsmarted (i know mine isn't).

You could try a distraction, give him some food that he likes, or takes a lot of effort to eat right before he starts getting loud.

You could also try to give him a toy, or even a foraging toy with food hidden in it can keep a grey busy for a while.

Hope that kind of helps. :S
