I got it done over 4 months ago and it hasn't healed yet and now i noticed the piercing is getting closer to the surface of my skin, which is migrating. I thought Migrating happened only for underage girls not for a 29 year old woman!!! is a certain migrating normal or do i have to do something before it's too late?

  1. I can take up to a year for a belly ring to heal. Especially if your pants rub up against it alot. The migrating part Im not sure I never had that problem. I would as the peron who pierced you to look at it.

  2. Piercings migrate for different reasons. It could have to do wtih the jewelry style and type of metal you have. Do you have any other piercings? You could be one of the few people who has problems with stainless steel. Or maybe your piercer didn't use high enough quality jewelry. Or maybe you're not doing the correct aftercare (sea salt soaks and gentle wahsing, generally). Maybe it's just settling in. 4 months is not long for a navel piercing. Despite what some people say, they usually take 6-12 months to heal, sometimes even longer. Sometimes a piercing has to find a comfotable spot and will stay there. Have you tried to change the jewelry? Are you still keeping up with all your aftercare? Do you wear a ring or a barbell? Does it have anything dangly on it? There are so many things that could easily affect the healing process. It is less likely that a developed adult will have a navel piercing migrate due to bodily development and change, but it's not any less likely that it'll happen for any one of the myriad of other reasons.

  3. i think you should take it out let it heal for a few months and then get it done again.good luck
