  1. If you know the other children have head lice, then by all means yes...tell their parents.  You will be doing their children and yours a favor.  If their parents don't take corrective actions, that's neglectful.  I'd report the neglect to whatever agency in your area handles neglect issues for children.

  2. Parents should always tell the school, so everyone else can watch out for the dratted things.

  3. My daughter kept getting them so I washed her hair in tea tree shampoo and did the conditioner comb through but the little blighters kept coming back. A friend told me to use hair straighteners as it burns the eggs out of the hair. It worked straightaway and she hasn't had them since.

  4. She can only get them from her friends from direct contact such as from spending the night and sleeping next to her friends, or from using their brushes or combs.  Stop buying the over-the-counter pesticides like Nix.  They don't always work, aren't good for you, and are expensive.  My doctor gave me this remedy and it works!  Before sleeping, glob on a bunch of hair gel (any cheap kind like dippidy-doo) and sleep with a shower cap.  This should smother the live ones.  In the morning, rinse with a lemon juice and vinegar rinse.  I used about a cup of lemon juice and 1/2 cup of vinegar.  It can sting your scalp a little.  Don't get it into their eyes or it will burn.  If you repeat this about 3 nights in a row, it should work.  You may have to repeat this procedure after about a week in case any nits (eggs) are left stuck in the hair.  Or you can use a flashlight at night to look at their hair and the nits will show up really well.  Try to hand pick them out when you see them.  It is better to get them before they hatch.  This worked for me when I had the most persistent case of lice!  Nix did not work at all.

  5. ya, if ur sure that it's from the other kids, you should definitely tell their parents.  don't mention any names of who you think it is, just say that your daughter is getting them from one of her friends, but you don't know who, so you're asking everyone to check to see who has them.  anyone who has them should be quarentined until they get rid of them.

  6. when her friends call round, shave there heads

  7. If they don't know then yes tell them. They should not be playing together until everyone is treated. No questions.

  8. tea tree oil no good, swiming hat good, parrafin good to kill plus only 2.89 a litre, no good if she smokes as death likely, we have flees and nits all time in my country we race the lice and bet on it, makes fun for child and money to, not kill all gods creatures all time, they no help being fleey or licey too , undrerstndadn no? god l**k with child

I dont know if it is this exact one, But when i started working in nurserys my mums friend suggested using a head lice repellant shampoo, I never actually used it but my mums mate swore by it!

Ive also been told tea tree oil works.

  10. tell the other parents definitely

  11. tell the other parents or get all the kids round for a nit killing session make parents aware of the fact that eggs remain on bedding clothes etc for up to 4 days so everything needs washing be thorough

  12. The most practical and easy way would be to tie her hair up so that none is hanging loose and to tell her to try not to get close to anyone at school and not to share brushes/combs.

  13. I know a good way of preventing your daughter getting nits, before you tie her hair up into a pony tail, apply conditioner to it (on dry hair) this stops nitts from being able to cling onto the hair shaft and her hair being tied up helps to controll where the nitts are able to leap.  Kids and nitts are a normal part of growing up, everyone always reacts so badly 'omg tell the school' cha! just slap conditioner on it and she'l be fine :-)

  14. what are nits?

  15. Hairspray helps.

  16. put a condom on her head

  17. put a bit of olive oil on her hair!

  18. you can't stop kids putting there heads close together and catching nits...the only thing you can do is go through her hair each evening and hope for the best...may be a good idea to have a quick word with the friends parents or a teacher to try to solve the problem

  19. Tell your daughter

    not to get to close..

    No hugs..

  20. hi in the past when my children have had them i have informed school who then sent out a little note to ask parents to check their childrens hair reguarly. i use a little bit of pure tea tree oil aswell as my normal shampoo everytime i wash their hair and i sit down with the fine tooth comb and go through their hair every time its been washed, usually 4 times a week they have it washed, its time consuming but worth it and my children are used to it now and will sit for me, good luck

  21. Tell the school that you think they are going round. Check her hair often. Keep her hair tied up for school. Advise her not to make close contact people. Eg. no hugs. If she does catch nits rinse her hair in mouthwash and wrap it in clingflim. Leave it a couple of hours and comb them out.

Check her hair immediatly if you notice:

    Constant scratching

White flecks attached to her hair (Nits)

    Greyish brown insects (Lice)

Scratching is the biggest give away. The lice suck the blood from the scalp leaving an itchy rash.
