  1. go into your router and do a mac address block where you only allow your PC's mac address to access the router/internet. Its a more discreet way of disallowing other people to log on, because they will just get an error message saying "could not connect" and you can just say "not sure what happened" versus telling your housemate you locked him out of the router and put security/encryption on it (and they might ask you for the password)

  2. Also, disable DHCP and then configure the router with a very small range if IP's (255.255.255.252 will give you two usable addresses), then regardless of using wireless or cable - you'd still only be allowed one PC on the router.

  3. If you would like to stop people from using your router, perhaps you should encrypt it.

You may be able to do so from going to your router's settings page and then to the section for encryption.

If you would like to log in, you should type in 192.168.0.1 into your browser and then enter your username and password. If you don't know your username or password, you may want to try one of the combinations below.

    Username: admin

    Password: password

    or

    Username: admin

    Password: admin

Good luck and I hope I helped you!
