How can i stop my tongue from touching my orthodontic appliance at night?

when i go to sleep my tongue touches my orthodontic appliance and since i am not moving my mouth in the night, the appliance (http://mapleorthodontics.com/images/!palatal-expander.jpg)

makes an indent in my tongue which really hurts in the morning. i was just wondering if you guys could help me on how to fix this.

HI.  I just wanted you to no that your link doesn't work.  But I think I know what your talking about.  When I sleep sideways my tongue doesn't touch the bottom of my mouth as much, it kinda dangles.  I know that sounds weird but I hope It helps you.  Good luck with your palate expander and braces!
