  2. These are the effects of one who does not truly like self or love self, usually due to being exposed to critical feedback and accepting it as truth.

    To counter the negative self-talk, negative self-image, and overall negative beliefs you have about you, it is important to replace the negative with positive.  

    Compose a few affirmations, statements that are uplifting, edifying, and true.  Tape them to your bathroom mirror or any mirror you look into while getting ready, and read them out loud to yourself.  The next couple of days, say them out loud while looking into your own eyes in the mirror.  Convince yourself that these are the true statements about you, not the critical and negative ones that have been in your head for too long.  Point out your attributes to yourself.  

    Of what are you jealous?  Other males?  When another person gets attention and you don't?  Whatever the trigger is that sparks feelings of jealousy within you, it can bring a different and positive response if you alter the thinking behind the trigger and the jealous feelings.  

    Ex: "That guy doesn't deserve to have all that money!"

    can be changed to

    "That guy is fortunate to be wealthy.  I would like to be wealthy.  Lack of funds definitely limits my activities."

    Turn negatives into positives, and validate your feelings as being normal, but alter your outlook surrounding the feelings.  If you ACT it, you will eventually FEEL it.

    Act as if you are not bothered by jealousy and insecurity.  Act confident, act as if you care about yourself, that you like yourself, that you love your being, and it will become the foundation on which you will develop associated thoughts of self in order to continue receiving rewarding responses from other people around you, those who interact with you.  

  3. I think you need to first ask yourself WHY you are being so jealous and insecure. Did something happen to you before? Our past experiences really define who we are today. Find out when you really started feeling these negative feelings and go from there. We all feel jealous and insecure at times but they should never overwhelm us. Good Luck.
