How can i strengthen my wireless connection?

i want to access my internet connection to my mates house(next door but one) but atm it wont reach far enough. i am using my laptop to try and connect and my laptop has the wireless connection card that was built in when i bought it. My wireless modem is netgear 56mbps.......

any help?

buy a router that provides farther range.. usually cost more. or make a DIY range expander. I saw one on instructables.com

You could try;

1. Moving closer physically

2. Changing the band on both.

hi there are a number of ways, move the computer nearer to the router, increase the power of the wifi card, make sure there is no interference from devices such as baby monitors, microwaves etc, or get a more powerful router or wifi repeater to really increase range more suggestions below

First of all check that your mates house internet connection is secure or not.

If it is secure then no way you will be able to access it.

Also the wireless card will not reach that far.
