Question:

How can i string cable wire under my carpet without ripping it all up?

I want to move my entertainment stand from one wall to another but the cable company wont do it for me because it is an interior wall. (i guess they stopped doing it) so i want to do it myself but ever little trick i can think up and try doesnt work. any ideas? i dont want to rip the whole living room carpet up. HELP ME lol

  1. if youve got a basement run the wire thru there, or hire someone like me a professional a/v installer, not a cable guy, they are pretty much worthless, i could pull up carpet run wires and put carpet back down, as long as its not a ton of wires....


  2. Thats a tough problem. Even if you could slide the cable TV wire under a tacked down carpet, you would still have a bulge that follows the path of the cable. You might do better by extending the cable wire (Perhaps your cable guy could come back, and splice in a longer wire) along the edges of the lower wall, where it meets the floor. If there is a doorway in the way, you'd need to run the wire up and over and down around the door opening.

    We have a run like that on our bedroom level, that the cable installer put in and tacked down along it's entire run.
