How can i switch off my i pod after getting rid off lime wire!?

Okay so i was told by a friend that lime wire was completely safe and all that c**p and then when i got it i read this article on the web that lime wire makes your i pod not switch off or always turn on. As it turns out my i pod started doing just that and when i needed it it had no battery and i got it confiscated once at school because the teacher heard it! I immediately got rid of lime wire but now my i pod still won't turn off and i am begging any one who may know the answer to my problem to write because i really don't want my i pod to be broken forever!!! Help!!! Greatly appreciated

ipods don't 'switch off' then it will go into sleep mode. to do this you have to hold the play/pause button and it'll go into sleep mode then lock your ipod depending on the model by switching it into lock this will turn off speakers and make sure your ipod is quiet.

oh you ipod isn't broken

oh if it freezes at any point middel and menue button held together on ipod and ipod nano for 30 secs or untill you see the apple logo on screen

First of all DO NOT USE LIME WIRE!!!!! Lime wire can

cause all kinds of wierd things with your ipod and computer. Also, there are many other options besides lime wire. If you want free music try http://www.aimini.net/ they have full-length songs.

Anyways, try plugging your ipod into your computer and delete all of the songs that you downloaded from lime wire.

And make sure that your ipod is off. Make sure you held the play/pause button until the screen goes black and then put on the hold switch. For shuffles, make sure the on/off switch is in the off position.

If all fails, try reseting your ipod. For nanos and classics: hold down the play and the menu button until you see the apple logo (your music will be okay) For shuffles: turn your ipod off wait 5-10 seconds and then turn it on again.
