  1. ok hun, not sure what level your at, at the mo, but a good start, if you already have Photoshop like you said, is to;-

learn and use layers alot first

also use the mask and quick mask, see how it works and how to use it properly, it helps tons in the long run

have a play with blending modes, they are also great and can add real depth to your pics and leave a real professional look, very easily.

im contactable here if you want to ask anything direct, or maybe your more of a beginner than this... or passed this level.

look forward to hearing from you... photo editing is a fantastic hobby

  2. Try the Gimp it is similar to Photoshop with the advantage of being  free.

The GNU Image Manipulation Program, the GIMP, is ideal for amateur photographers, web designers, and many other people who want to create and edit digital images. It is a very powerful application, with features including: channels, layers and masks; colour operations such as levels, curves and threshhold; advanced selection operations using intelligent scissors and selection channels; and much more.

GIMP is free software, which means it can be freely distributed and modified. This makes it well suited to be included on cover disks of magazines dedicated to digital photography or image editing, or to be included with digital cameras, scanners, printers etc. As free software, its capabilities are ultimately limited only by the collective imagination of the community of free software contributors.

  3. Photoshop is the most widely used and advanced photo editing system out there. But it's expensive and if you've only been editing photos on Bebo, I suggest you start with something like Photoshop elements - go to download.com to download a demo version and see what you think.
