How can i take printouts with out colour catridge in canon pixma mp160??? i have put new b/w catridge...?

if it is not in the driver (printer properties) you can't as even black uses some colour

You cannot print without colour cartridge installed in the printer; error E5 will occur. You must install colour cartridge even you just need print in B/W. Regards.

You need a color cartridge in there even if it is empty.

The printer will not function with a cartridge bay empty.   If you have the old cartridge install it empty and print, ignore the warnings that your cartridge is empty.
